Because of the conversation I had with my husband this morning, I thought it might be wise to repost this page.
Every single day when we turn on the news, we can see items discussing the universal economic crash. It’s become a reality for most people around the world, now. I’m constantly getting reminded of the following Scripture passage from James 5:3 which says:
Your gold and silver are corroded, and their corrosion will be a witness against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have heaped up treasure in the last days!
What is the one thing that so-called investors are telling the population to do if they can? Buy up gold and silver. In other words, precious metals. Thing is, even these people know that the love affair with silver and gold doesn’t last forever. They warn about that, too. If we go back and read the first two verses out of chapter 5 of James we see this:
1: Come now you rich, weep and howl for your miseries that are coming upon you!
2: Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten.
Now re-read verse 3: Your gold and silver are corroded, and their corrosion will be a witness against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have heaped up treasure in the last days!
I truly get the feeling we are witnessing those last days in our time now more than we ever have. The Lord is warning His saints and, as far as I’m concerned, all these warnings in the news about how to value your ‘assets’ are a load of whitewash. Nothing in this world is ever safe or reliable. Only the Living God is able to care for His people who must put their trust in Him alone. We are told that if we have clothing and food we shall be satisfied with these things. Read 1 Timothy 6:8. If you also read the previous two verses, you’ll get the context. The whole chapter lays the theme of Godliness out for us all.
Another Scripture passage I love comes from Proverbs 3; The whole chapter is wonderful but how about these powerful verses:
5: Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding.
6: In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
7: Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil.
8: It will be health to your flesh and strength to your bones.
9: Honour the Lord with your possessions, And with the firstfruits of all your increase;
10: So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine.
Want to know how to be blessed? You’ve just read it! Trying to stay ahead of the money market game just brings miserable results as you have to watch the markets constantly. If you apply God’s solutions to your life, He will take care of the Blessings.
